OF THEIR DEPUTIES OBSERVED A DRUG TRANSACTION

IN A PARKING LOT ON FAIRVIEW AVENUE IN

GREENPORT. 25 YEAR OLD HAKIM MYRICK OF HUDSON

IS BEING HELD IN THE COLUMBIA COUNTY JAIL ON

FELONY DRUG CHARGES. POLICE SAY, THEY RECOVERED

24 BAGS OF HEROIN, NEEDLES, AND A QUANTITY OF 

CASH.

 

 

TWO TEENS FROM THE BERKSHIRE FARM CENTER IN

CANAAN FACE CHARGES FROM AN ARREST ON SUNDAY.

BOTH THE 14 AND 15 YEAR OLD ARE CHARGED WITH

CRIMINAL MISCHEIF AND UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A

VEHICLE, WITHOUT THE OWNERS CONSENT. BOTH

WERE CHARGED AT THE STATE POLICE BARRACKS

IN LIVINGSTON AND ISSUED APPEARANCE TICKETS

FOR COURT.

 

 

A TRAFFIC STOP ON STATE STREET IN HUDSON HAS

LEAD TO MANY TICKETS FOR A CITY MAN. 20 YEAR

OLD VANCE COHEN WAS GIVEN TWO APPEARANCE TICKETS

FOR DRUG POSESSION AND EIGHT TICKETS FOR

MOTOR VEHICLE VIOLATIONS. HE WAS RELEASED

AFTER POSTING BAIL.

 

 

THE CLAVERACK WOMAN, ACCUSED OF SHOOTING HER

NEIGHBOR'S DOG TO DEATH IN JUNE, IS SCHEDULED

TO APPEAR IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT TODAY.

62 YEAR OLD LINDA DEROSA HAD FIRST APPEARED

IN TOWN COURT. THE CASE IS BEING MOVED UP YO

COUNTY COURT. STATE POLICE CHARGED HER WITH

AGGRAVATED ANIMAL CRUELTY, A FELONY.

PART OF ROUTE 23 IN CAIRO WAS CLOSED YESTERDAY

AFTERNOON, WHILE EMERGENCY CREWS CLEARED AN

ACCIDENT IN THE EASTBOUND LANES. A CAR ROLLED

OVER AT ROSS RULAND ROAD, TRAPPING THE DRIVER.

ARRIVING UNITS FOUND THE MAN CONSCIOUS AND

BREATHING.

 

 

THREE PEOPLE WERE TREATED FOR MINOR INJURIES

MONDAY, AFTER THREE CARS COLLIDED IN HUDSON.

THE CRASH WAS ON GREEN STREET, JUST

WEST OF FAIRVIEW AVENUE.

 

 

TWO PEOPLE HURT MONDAY IN SEPARATE BICYCLE

ACCIDENTS. THE FIRST INVOLVED A 74 YEAR OLD MAN

ON SHAKER MUSEUM ROAD IN THE TOWN OF CHATHAM.

A 25 YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS IN THE SECOND, ON 

MAPLE AVENUE IN CATSKILL.

 

 

A HUDSON MAN WAS SENT TO THE COLUMBIA COUNTY

JAIL AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTED HIS ROOMMATE

AT THEIR COLUMBIA STREET APARTMENT. CITY POLICE

SAY, 38 YEAR OLD PHILIP YOUNG FORCED THE

WOMAN TO THE FLOOR AND STRUCK HER SEVERAL TIMES.

BAIL WAS SET AT 1000 DOLLARS.

 

 

A CATSKILL MAN WAS CHARGED BY STATE POLICE

WITH FELONY BAIL JUMPING AND VIOLATING 

PROBATION, 54 YEAR OLD GEORGE VEGA WAS ARRESTED 

OVER THE WEEKEND. HE'S BEING HELD WITHOUT BAIL.

 

 

A TRAFFIC STOP ON ROUTE 23 IN CLAVERACK HAS

LANDED A TOWN MAN UNDER ARREST. 28 YEAR OLD

KEVIN SHOOK IS CHARGED WITH OBSTRUCTION, 

RESISTING ARREST, AND DRIVING WITHOUT A 

LICENSE.

 

 

FIREMEN FROM, STUYVESANT ASSISTED CREWS FROM

SCHODACK LANDING AND CASTLETON, ON THE HUDSON

RIVER. THE THREE DEPARTMENTS WORKED TO RESCUE

TWO OPERATORS OF JET SKIS THAT WERE STUCK IN

THE MUD, NEAR THE HOOK BOAT CLUB. THERE WERE

NO INJURIES.

 

 

CATSKILL FIREMEN RESPONDED TO A BRUSH FIRE

JUST BEFORE MIDNIGHT, LAST NIGHT. A SMALL

AREA WAS BLACKENED NEAR 214 WATER STREET.

FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO A RAIL CAR THAT CAUGHT

FIRE SATURDAY NIGHT IN EAST CHATHAM. THE CAR WAS 

CARRYING CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS. THREE FIRE COMPANIES

RESPONDED TO AN AREA OF PERCY HILL ROAD. THEY WERE

ON THE SCENE FOR NEARLY FOUR HOURS. THEN ON SUNDAY

AFTERNOON FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO WOODBRIDGE AVENUE IN 

CHATHAM WHEN THAT SAME CAR CAUGHT FIRE AGAIN.

 

 

CATSKILL FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE CALLED TO A

PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT SUNDAY MORNING. THE 

CRASH WAS ON ROUTE 23B IN JEFFERSON HEIGHTS.

 

 

ONE PERSON WAS TAKEN TO COLUMBIA MEMORIAL EARLY

SUNDAY MORNING AFTER THEIR CAR STRUCK A POLE IN

GHENT. THE ACCIDENT WAS ON ROUTE 66.

 

 

OTHER ACCIDENTS OVER THE WEEKEND THAT BROUGHT

AN EMERGENCY RESPONSE WERE ON ROUTE 9W IN 

COXSACKIE, AND MIDDLE ROAD IN GREENPORT. 

 

 

A HUDSON MAN, WHO WAS IN POSESSION OF A LOADED

HANDGUN DURING A TRAFFIC STOP LAST FALL, WILL

SPEND THE NEXT 1 TO 3 YEARS IN PRISON. 25 YEAR

OLD ANDRE PERRY WAS SENTENCED LATE LAST WEEK

IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT. HE PLED GUILTY TO THE

CHARGES IN MAY. 

 

 

ALSO IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT, 16 YEAR OLD

DANIEL REPKO OF STUYVESANT PLED GUILTY TO BURGULARY

AND CRIMINAL POSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY. HE WAS

CHARGED WITH BREAKING INTO ICHABOD CRANE MIDDLE 

SCHOOL IN MAY, AND THEN, LEADING STATE POLICE ON 

A HIGH SPEED CHASE IN A STOLEN VEHICLE. 

 

 

AFTER BEING CALLED TO REPORTS OF A SUSPICIOUS

VEHICLE, A GREENPORT MAN FACES CHARGES. 21 YEAR

OLD ANTHONY PRICE-BAYNES WAS CHARGED BY STATE

POLICE WITH RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT, OBSTRUCTION,

RESISTING ARREST, DWI, AND DRIVING WITHOUT A

LICENSE. HE WAS ARRESTED ON COLUMBIA STREET

IN HUDSON.

 

 

A BURGULARY INVESTIGATION IN CANAAN HAS LED TO

THE ARREST OF A 16 YEAR OLD. STATE POLICE

CHARGED SHANE DUGAN WITH CRIMINAL POSESSION OF

STOLEN PROPERTY. HE'S SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN

TOWN COURT.

A LONG TIME GREENE COUNTY JUDGE HAS DIED.

71 YEAR OLD GEORGE PULVER JUNIOR PASSED AWAY

THURSDAY. HE WAS GREENE COUNTY JUDGE FROM

1996 TO 2013. HE ALSO SERVED AS GREENE COUNTY

ATTORNEY, PUBLIC DEFENDER, ASSISTANT DISTRICT

ATTORNEY, AND CATSKILL VILLAGE JUSTICE. 

A PRIVATE SERVICE WAS HELD.

 

 

THE PROSECUTORS IN THE FEDERAL RADIATION DEATH 

RAY CASE WANT A STOCKPORT MAN TO SERVE UP TO 15 

YEARS IN PRISON. THE TIMES UNION IS REPORTING,

IN A PRE-SENTENCING RECOMMENDATION TO THE JUDGE, 

THEY WOULD LIKE 56 YEAR OLD ERIC FEIGHT TO GET 

THE MAXIMUM SENTENCE. FEIGHT PLED GUILTY IN JANUARY 

2014 TO PROVIDING MATERIAL SUPPORT TO TERRORISTS. 

HIS SENTENCING IS SCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 17TH. HIS 

CO- DEFENDENT, GLENDON SCOTT CRAWFORD WAS 

CONVICTED AT TRIAL LAST WEEK.

 

 

HUDSON MAYOR WILLIAM HALLENBECK IS LOOKING

FOR HELP IN REPLACING THE LONG TROUBLED FERRY

STREET BRIDGE. AT A PRESS CONFRENCE YESTERDAY,

HE CALLED ON LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL

OFFICIALS TO ASSIST WITH FUNDING. HE'S ALSO

ORDERED THE CITY'S GRANT WRITERS TO EXPLORE

EVERY POSSIBLE OPTION. THE BRIDGE HAS

BEEN CLOSED FOR OVER A YEAR. 

 

 

ROUTE 9W IN COXSACKIE WAS CLOSED FRIDAY MORNING

AFTER AN ACCIDENT AT THE THRUWAY INTERCHANGE.

A CAR STRUCK A TRACTOR TRAILER HEAD-ON JUST

AFTER 6:30. THE EXIT RAMP FROM THE THRUWAY

WAS ALSO CLOSED.

 

 

FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE ALSO CALLED TO A ONE

CAR ACCIDENT ON THE TACONIC PARKWAY YESTERDAY.

A CAR STRUCK A GUARDRAIL IN THE NORTHBOUND

LANES, JUST BEFORE LAKE TAGHKANIC STATE PARK.

 

 

A CORNWALVILLE MAN FACES DRUG CHARGES AFTER

HIS ARREST ON PORTO ROAD IN CATSKILL. STATE

POLICE CHARGED 47 YEAR OLD FRANK VIGLANTE

WITH CRIMINAL POSESSION OF A CONTROLLED

SUBSTANCE, AND CRIMINAL SALE OF A 

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

 

 

AN INCIDENT AT THE BROOKWOOD SECURE CENTER IN

CLAVERACK WEDNESDAY HAS LEAD TO THE ARREST OF 

A 17 YEAR OLD. TYRELL ASH WAS CHARGED WITH ASSAUT,

WITH INTENT TO CAUSE PHYSICAL INJURY. HE WAS HELD 

ON CASH BAIL ACCORDING TO POLICE.

 

 

TODAY MARKS THE 13TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE

DISAPPEARANCE OF FREEHOLD RESIDENT AUDREY

MAE HERRON. SHE WAS LAST SEEN AROUND 11PM

AUGUST 29TH, 2002, LEAVING HER JOB AT THE

GREENE COUNTY LONG TERM CARE FACILITY

IN CATSKILL. NO TRACES OF AUDREY OR HER

A FUND HAS BEEN SET UP TO HELP PAY FUNERAL

EXPENSES FOR THE FOUR MEN KILLED WEDNESDAY, IN

A SAUGERTIES CAR CRASH. SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS

HAS BEEN RAISED SO FAR ON THE "GO FUND ME" SITE.

THE FOUR MEN, AND THE DRIVER, 19 YEAR OLD

MEREDITH MCSPIRIT OF KINGSTON HAD JUST LEFT

THEIR JOBS, AT HITS ON THE HUDSON, A HORSE SHOW

FACILITY. ULSTER COUNTY D.A., HOLLEY CARNWRIGHT

SAYS HIS OFFICE WILL INVESTIGATE THE ACCIDENT.

 

 

TWO PEOPLE WERE TAKEN TO ALBANY MED THURSDAY 

AFTER THEIR CAR CRASHED IN THE WOODS ON THE 

TACONIC PARKWAY. FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS RESPONDED 

TO THE NORTHBOUND LANES, NEAR MANOR ROCK ROAD

IN CLAVERACK. THREE OTHERS IN THE VEHICLE

REFUSED TREATMENT. THE FIVE WERE FAMILY MEMBERS

FROM AFGHANISTAN.

 

 

HAINES FALLS FIREMEN AND TANNERSVILLE RESCUE

RESCUED A 70 YEAR OLD MAN, WHO WAS INJURED

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON WHILE HIKING. THE MAN FELL

ON A TRAIL BETWEEN KAATERSKILL FALLS AND

HORSESHOE FALLS. POLICE ASSISTED IN THE RESCUE.

 

 

A FORMER SOUTH CAIRO WOMAN IS THE LATEST TO

BE CHARGED WITH WELFARE FRAUD IN GREENE COUNTY.

53 YEAR OLD JEANNE AUGUSTINE OF KINGSTON

WAS ARRESTED BY STATE POLICE. SHE'S ACCUSED

OF STEALING CLOSE TO 5000 DOLLARS IN SOCIAL

SERVICES BENEFITS.

 

 

WE'RE EXPECTED TO LEARN MORE THIS AFTERNOON,

ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE FERRY STREET BRIDGE IN 

HUDSON. MAYOR HALLENBECK WILL HOLD A 1PM PRESS

AND LOCAL OFFICIALS. THE BRIDGE HAS BEEN

THEIR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT.

THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE ANNOUNCED YESTERDAY THAT

EACH COUNTY WILL GET 3.5 MILLION DOLLARS.

50 MILLION TOTAL IS BEING SPLIT AMONG 17
