A PRATTSVILLE MAN IS IN THE OSTEGO COUNTY JAIL,

FACING FELONY CHARGES FROM A FATAL ACCIDENT ON 

THURSDAY. STATE POLICE SAY 24 YEAR OLD BRANDON LANE

WAS THE DRIVER OF A CAR THAT LEFT ROUTE 80, BECAME 

AIRBORNE, AND STRUCK A TREE. A PASSENGER IN THE CAR, 

A 21 YEAR OLD WOMAN FROM COOPERSTOWN DIED IN THE 

CRASH. HE'S CHARGED WITH VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER 

AND DWI.

 

 

A 52 YEAR OLD WOMAN AND A 50 YEAR OLD MAN WERE

INJURED YESTERDAY MORNING, AFTER THEIR CARS

COLLIDED IN WEST ATHENS. FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS

RESPONDED TO THE SCENE ON ROUTE 9W.

 

 

A 61 YEAR OLD MAN IS BEING TREATED FOR INJURIES

AFTER HE CRASHED HIS MOTORCYCLE FRIDAY. THE

ACCIDENT WAS ON COUNTY ROUTE 46 IN STUYVESANT

FALLS. THE MAN WAS TAKEN TO COLUMBIA MEMORIAL.

 

 

COLUMBIA COUNTY FIRE INVESTIGATORS WERE CALLED

IN TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF A VEHICLE FIRE

YESTERDAY IN LIVINGSTON. LIVINGSTON FIREMEN

EXTINGUISHED THE BLAZE AT 10 WHITE HILLS ROAD.

 

 

EARLIER ON FRIDAY, STOTTVILLE FIREMEN WERE ON

THE SCENE OF A FULLY INVOLVED VEHICLE FIRE

ON ATLANTIC AVENUE. THAT VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED.

 

 

A PHILMONT WOMAN FACES CHARGES FROM A DOMESTIC

INCIDENT IN THE VILLAGE. STATE POLICE CHARGED

21 YEAR OLD ALICIA SHOOK WITH CRIMINAL MISCHEIF

AND HARASSMENT. SHE'LL ANSWER THE CHARGES COURT.

 

 

A 7 YEAR OLD GIRL IS BEING TREATED FOR DOG

BITES, AFTER SHE WAS BITTEN FRIDAY IN TANNERSVILLE.

TANNERSVILLE RESCUE AND POLICE RESPONDED TO THE

SCENE ON HUDSON AVENUE.

 

 

THE ANNUAL RUBBER DUCK RACE AND FESTIVAL TAKES

PLACE TODAY IN TANNERSVILLE. 500 RUBBER DUCKS

WILL BE LAUNCHED INTO GOOSEBERRY CREEK, FROM

THE BRIDGE ON MAIN STREET, AT 11AM. THE RACE

ENDS AT RIP VAN WINKLE LAKE.

 

 

THIS YEAR'S FIBERGLASS CATS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED

AROUND STREETS IN CATSKILL, JUST IN TIME FOR

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND. THE 37 CATS WILL BE ON

DISPLAY UNTIL LABOR DAY WEEKEND. THEY'LL BE

AUCTIONED OFF FOR CHARITY IN SEPTEMBER. THIS

A HUDSON MAN FACES SEVEN YEARS IN PRISON, AFTER

PLEADING GUILTY YESTERDAY TO CRIMINAL SEX ACT.

COLUMBIA COUNTY D.A. PAUL CZAIJKA SAYS 34 YEAR OLD 

IRA DAVIS ADMITTED TO HAVING SEXUAL CONDUCT WITH A 

VICTIM UNDER 11. SENTENCING IS SCHEDULED FOR JULY 

IN COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT.

 

 

HUDSON POLICE WANT TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO MIGHT

HAVE WITNESSED A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT WEDNESDAY

AFTERNOON, ON THE 700 BLOCK OF WARREN STREET

AROUND 2:30PM. IT'S BELIEVED THE INCIDENT IS

RELATED TO THE MAN IN HIS 20'S, WHO CAME TO THE

POLICE STATION WITH A STAB WOUND IN HIS BACK.

THE INCIDENT INVOLVED A CAR AND MOTORCYCLE. 

ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IS ASKED TO CALL

A CATSKILL TEEN WAS SENT TO THE GREENE COUNTY

JAIL AFTER AN ALTERCATION ON MAIN STREET. 18 YEAR

OLD ZACHARY SHAHAM WAS CHARGED WITH DISORDERLY

CONDUCT BY CATSKILL POLICE. BAIL WAS SET AT

200 DOLLARS.

 

 

FIREMEN MADE QUICK WORK OF TWO SMALL BRUSH

FIRES THURSDAY. THE FIRST WAS ON ROUTE 203

IN GHENT, THE SECOND WAS ON ROUTE 203 IN 

KINDERHOOK.

 

 

TEAM LEADERS AT ALL PRICE CHOPPER STORES ARE

BEING INVITED TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT

AGAINST THE CHAIN. THE TIMES UNION IS REPORTING

A FEDERAL JUDGE HAS AUTHORIZED THE SUIT, WHICH

BEGAN WITH A DEPARTMENT MANAGER AT THREE MASSACHUSETTS 

STORES, WHO CLAIMED PRICE CHOPPER WAS AVOIDING PAYING 

HER OVERTIME BECAUSE OF HER JOB TITLE. 

 

 

STATE POLICE, TROOP K IS HOLDING THEIR ANNUAL

MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY THIS MORNING. THE SERVICE

HONORS MEMBERS OF THE TROOP THAT GAVE THEIR

LIVES, WHILE ON DUTY. TROOP K INCLUDES TROOPERS

FROM COLUMBIA COUNTY. THE CEREMONY BEGINS

AT 11AM AT HEADQUARTERS IN SALT POINT, DUTCHESS

A MAN IN HIS 20'S WAS TREATED FOR A STAB WOUND

WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON IN HUDSON. THE MAN WALKED

INTO THE HUDSON POLICE STATION WITH THE WOUND

TO HIS BACK. HE WAS TAKEN TO COLUMBIA MEMORIAL

BY GREENPORT RESCUE. CITY POLICE SAY, THE

WOUND WAS NOT LIFE THREATENING. THEY ARE

INVESTIGATING.

 

 

A CATSKILL WOMAN WAS SENT TO THE GREENE COUNTY 

JAIL, AFTER HER ARREST AT AN INCIDENT ON

FRANKLIN STREET. 31 YEAR OLD TEQUILLA HALL

WAS CHARGED BY CATSKILL POLICE WITH HARASSMENT

AND TWO COUNTS OF CRIMINAL MISCHEIF. SHE WAS

ALSO HELD ON A PAROLE VIOLATION.

 

 

A RICHMOND MASSACHUSETTS MAN IS ACCUSED OF 

VIOLATING AN ORDER OF PROTECTION, WITH A VICTIM 

IN CHATHAM. STATE POLICE SAY 47 YEAR OLD JASON 

POWERS SENT THE WOMAN SEVERAL TEXT MESSAGES.

HE HAS A COURT APPEARANCE SCHEDULED IN CHATHAM

VILLAGE COURT.

 

 

TWO AREA MEN, ARRESTED LAST YEAR BY STATE POLICE

ON DRUG CHARGES, BOTH PLED GUILTY YESTERDAY IN

COLUMBIA COUNTY COURT. SENTENCING FOR RASHEM COTMAN 

AND DYLAN GRYNER IS SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST.

 

 

HUDSON POLICE ARE ASKING FOR THE PUBLIC'S HELP

TO FIND OUT WHO THREW A BRICK THROUGH A PLATE

GLASS WINDOW AT THE VERDIGRIS TEA STORE, AT 135

WARREN STREET. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE BETWEEN

1 AND 4AM MONDAY MORNING. CALL THEM WITH ANY

CRARYVILLE FIREMEN RESPONDED TO A RESIDENCE ON 

BIRCH HILL ROAD IN COPAKE, AFTER THE HOME BEGAN 

FILLING WITH SMOKE. FIREMEN TRACED THE PROBLEM

TO THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. NYSEG WAS REQUESTED

TO THE SCENE.

COLUMBIA AND GREENE COUNTIES. ALL BY LARGE

MARGAINS.

 

 

STRONG STORMS MOVED THROUGH PARTS OF THE AREA

LAST NIGHT. THERE WERE SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES

AND VERY LITTLE DAMAGE. UTILITY COMPANIES

HAINES FALLS FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO KAATERSKILL

FALLS YESTERDAY AFTERNOON FOR A REPORTED,

INJURED HIKER. UNITS RESPONDED JUST BEFORE 5PM.

THE WOMAN WAS REPORTED TO BE AT THE BASE OF

THE FALLS.

 

 

A 62 YEAR OLD WOMAN WAS RUSHED TO ALBANY MED

YESTERDAY, AFTER FALLING FROM A LADDER IN

COXSACKIE. THE ACCIDENT WAS AT A HOME ON

BEECHWOOD DRIVE. THE WOMAN HAD SEVERE HEAD

INJURIES.

 

 

A 60 YEAR OLD MAN IS BEING TREATED FOR INJURIES

AFTER A TWO CAR ACCIDENT YESTERDAY MORNING IN

GREENVILLE. THE CRASH WAS AT THE ROUTE 67 AND

41 INTERSECTION.

 

 

A 42 YEAR OLD MAN WAS TAKEN TO ALBANY MED AFTER 

HE WAS STRUCK BY A PICKUP IN NIVERVILLE. FIRE 

AND RESCUE CREWS WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE ON ROUTE

9 AT MAVIS TIRE.

 

 

A NEW YORK CITY MAN IS IN THE GREENE COUNTY

JAIL AFTER AN ALTERCATION IN CATSKILL. VILLAGE

POLICE CHARGED 21 YEAR OLD PHILLIP EVANS OF

THE BRONX WITH ASSAULT. HE WAS SENT TO THE

GREENE COUNTY JAIL ON 1000 DOLLARS BAIL.

 

 

A PALENVILLE MAN FACES CHARGES IN ULSTER COUNTY,

FOR ALLEGEDLY LEAVING A DOG IN A HOT CAR AT THE

HUDSON VALLEY MALL IN KINGSTON. 24 YEAR OLD

JOSHUA RIVERA WAS ARRESTED BY TOWN OF ULSTER

POLICE. THEY SAY, THE TEMPERATURE IN THE

VEHICLE WAS 90 DEGREES. 

 

 

MONEY IS ON THE WAY TO THE CATSKILL HOUSING

AUTHORITY, TO INSTALL A SECURITY CAMERA SYSTEM.

45 THOUSAND DOLLARS, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF

HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT, WILL BE USED

AT THE HOP O NOSE APARTMENTS.

SHOTS WERE FIRED EARLY SUNDAY MORNING IN THE CITY OF

HUDSON. POLICE REPORT, NO ONE WAS HURT AND AN ALBANY

MAN IS UNDER ARREST. 25 YEAR OLD JOEL DORVAL WAS

CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL POSESSION OF A WEAPON,

MENACING, AND FALSE PERSONATION. HE WAS RELEASED

AFTER POSTING 20 THOUSAND DOLLARS BAIL. CITY POLICE

RECOVERED THE GUN, THEY SAY WAS STOLEN FROM

MISSISSIPPI. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON WARREN

STREET, IN THE AREA OF THE SAVOIA BAR.

 

 

AREA POLICE WERE CALLED TO GERMANTOWN SCHOOLS

YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, FOR A REPORTED, SUSPICIOUS 

PERSON, IN THE PARKING LOT. THE MAN WAS TAKEN 

TO COLUMBIA MEMORIAL. THE SCHOOL WAS PUT ON

LOCKDOWN AS A PRECAUTION.

 

 

AN INCIDENT IN CATSKILL HAS LANDED A VILLAGE MAN

IN THE GREENE COUNTY JAIL. CATSKILL POLICE CHARGED

27 YEAR OLD ROBERT WARMSLEY WITH ASSAULT, CRIMINAL

MISCHEIF, MENACING, AND CHILD ENDANGERMENT. BAIL

WAS SET AT 2500 DOLLARS.

 

 

VOTERS GO TO THE POLLS TODAY AT THE 12 PUBLIC 

SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN COLUMBIA AND GREENE COUNTIES.

A COXSACKIE WOMAN FACES A LONG LIST OF CHARGES

AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP ON ROUTE 81. 23 YEAR OLD

RENEE KOHLER WAS CHARGED BY STATE POLICE WITH

CRIMINAL POSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE,

MARIJUANA POSESSION, CRIMINAL IMPERSONATION,

DRIVING WITHOUT A LICENSE, AND DWI.

 

 

FIRE AND RESCUE CREWS WERE ON THE SCENE OF SEVERAL

PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENTS MONDAY. PATIENTS WERE

TRANSPORTED TO AREA HOSPITALS AFTER CRASHES ON:

SPOOK ROCK ROAD IN CLAVERACK

FISH AND GAME ROAD IN CLAVERACK,

AND ROUTE 144 IN NEW BALTIMORE.

 

 

CLERMONT FIREMEN RESPONDED TO A REPORTED BRUSH

FIRE YESTERDAY, ON ROUTE 9G NEAR THE DUTCHESS

COUNTY LINE. IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN ILLEGAL

CONTROLLED BURN, WHICH FIREMEN PUT OUT. EARLIER

IN THE DAY, EAST DURHAM FIREMEN WERE CALLED TO

A BRUSH FIRE AT MILK RUN, OFF ROUTE 145.
